Whitewater Region Township paid out $110,888.23 in council honourariums and expenses in 2014.
This amount includes what was paid to the former and current councils.
In the former council, Mayor Jim Labow led the way receiving $18,572.53. However, on top of that he received honourariums from the Ottawa River Power Corporation for $4,279.71 and the Ottawa River Energy Solutions of $2,942.07, as he was council’s representative on both boards.
Deputy-Mayor Izett McBride received $14,750.13, including $2,3498.30 in expenses. Reeve Don Rathwell received $12,849.28, including expenses of $1,997.78.
The top paid councillor was Allan Dick, bringing in $13,521.88, including expenses of $2,670.38 and Joey Trimm with $12,389.10 including expenses of $1,528.60.
Two council members were paid in the current and former council positions. Councillor Cathy Regier received $13,132.39, including expenses of $1,294.39 while Daryl McLaughlin took home $13,107.89 including expenses of $1,269.89.
In the current council, no member incurred expenses in 2014.
The remunerations collected saw Mayor Hal Johnson receive $1,406.25 while Reeve Terry Millar and councillors Charlene Jackson, Chris Olmstead and Dave Mackay each receive $986.50.
