WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) —

Waters are gradually receding in the Township of Whitewater Region and some areas have reported the water going down by up to 10 inches as of yesterday.

The 2019 Flood Recovery Guide has been made available on the Township’s website, as the Region slowly moves into the recovery phase. The guide is meant to assist affected residents in a number of areas and the Recovery Phase is guided by the principles of safety, well-being and services.

The document is 11 pages long and contains information on sandbag and debris management, road repairs and openings, septic systems, wellness and social services, financial assistance and more.

Residents affected by the flooding are encouraged to register with Red Cross at 1-800-863-6582.
