WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) – Renfrew County 4H Square Dancers hosted its Achievement Night at the Cobden Agricultural Hall on Friday evening, Feb. 23. Prior to their family and friends arriving at 8 p.m., they spent an hour practising, to ensure they were well warmed up.
Prior to achievement night beginning, the Cloverbuds, those not yet old enough to be in 4H, had the opportunity to demonstrate the square dance they had learned.
During the achievement part, the dancers performed a variety of square dancers.
Once they were done, those in the audience were invited to participate in a square dance, pairing up with a dancer.
There was plenty of laughter, and a lot of fun, as some who have never square danced before took to the floor with those who have been learning.
At evening’s end, many of the dancers received their certificates of achievement.
