PEMBROKE — With the arrival of Spring, now is the time to have a look at your civic address signs and ensure they are cleaned off and visible. Property owners and occupants are responsible for having a sign and ensuring that both sides of their civic address sign are visible from the roadway at all times.
Director of Emergency Services and Chief of the Paramedic Service for the County of Renfrew, Michael Nolan said, “Please ensure your sign is clear of debris, such as trees, bushes and snow, and still has reflectivity. It is very important for first responders in vehicles to readily see your number in the event of an emergency. In an emergency, every second counts.”
If your sign needs to be replaced, or you don’t have a sign, please contact your local municipal office to order a new sign. Residents are reminded that there is a nominal cost to purchase, or replace the sign.
