The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region approved an amendment to the zoning category of the property located at 103 Rapid Road, from “Waterfront Vicinity (WV) Zone” to “Waterfront Vicinity -Exception Fifty-Three (WV-E53) Zone”.
“A garage, side building, gazebo are all classified as side use.” Burton said. “The applications were looking to build their garage first to store water amendments.”
The rezone would allow for the construction for the garage before the construction of the main building, and would not ‘affect the waterfront character of the area’ or affect the scenic view.
The applicant was not present, though was watching the live video
“I know we’ve seen this kind of applications before, but there’s always been a timeline on it.” Councillor McLaughlin said. “I was wondering if we could we put a timeline on it?”
“I can see a lot more of these coming.”
“It’s not cheap to do this.” Burton said. “It’s an application fee of $900 to put this before Council, and I’ve a. The applicant has not been proposed a timeline, if we’re considering it, we need to table the agreement to allow applicant to speak on it.”
“I don’t see any issue with this garage existing for ten years. I don’t see this affecting the area for ten years or greater.”
Mayor Mike Moore asked if there was any deliberation of a potential time line, and there was none.
The motion is carried.
