In a time when there seems to be so much turmoil within the human race,
I write with the intent to bring witness to signs of hope found in Cobden this past week.
While walking along the sidewalk on Crawford St. I came upon varied chalk messages and drawings ,
each offering, in word and picture, a message of love and joy, peace and hope.
Sadly, with the spring rain, they have washed away;
yet, I trust that the giver[s] of these messages will continue to brighten the corner where they are.
I also want to acknowledge the global perspective of humanity being recognized at Cobden Public School
as the following is taken from their April calendar.
IMPORTANT DATES
World Autism Day – April 2nd
Passover (Jewish) – April 5th to April 13th
Easter Sunday (Christianity) – April 8th
Vaisakhi (Sikh) – April 14th
Ramadan (Muslim) – March 22nd to April 20th
Ridvan (Baha’i) – April 20th to May 2nd
I am of the opinion these are acts that make for a good neighbourhood.
Let’s encourage and support such leadership.
Sincerely,
Margie Patterson
