The Regular Council meeting for the Township of Whitewater Region on May 3 began at 1:07pm in the Municipal Building in Cobden, Ontario.

Mayor Nicholson handed over the chairing of the meeting to Deputy Mayor Regier in order to make calls regarding the flooding situation in Whitewater Region.

He later returned to make the Mayor’s Address, where he declared the flooding to be an emergency, “almost at the level of 2019.”

Spring of 2019 saw Whitewater Region communities isolated and homes damaged by high flood waters along the Ottawa River.

The Mayor’s Address was separately uploaded to Youtube along with the entire meeting.
