A braid for love

The day before Leah Howatson turned 4 years old, August 11, to be exact, she went for the birthday haircut that she had been waiting for for weeks. She wanted her hair cut off to her chin. As you can see from the picture, she had incredibly long hair. With the exception of having a few inches taken off here and there, she has never really had her hair cut. When she spoke with her mom Danielle about the length of hair she was going to cut off, I asked her what she thought of donating her hair to someone who is sick and losing their hair because the solution to making them better causes their hair to fall out. We talked about how her hair could make a wig for someone and how that wig could make a very sick person very happy. Although she is too young to understand the affects of cancer and how devastating it is, she really wanted to help make someone happy. At her tender age, she bravely went in and had 10 inches of hair cut off to send to Locks for Love. Here is her adorable smiling face showing off all of her hair that she wants to use to help put a smile on the face of someone battling cancer.
