PEMBROKE – The OPP 2016 Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign commenced on November 21 and will run until January 7, 2017.
During the first week of the campaign from November 21-27, officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP conducted 34 RIDE checks throughout the detachment area.
Three roadside tests were administered to drivers at RIDE checks. No license suspensions or impaired driving charges were reported.
Detachment Commander Mark Wolfe stated, “RIDE checks can take place anywhere and at any time of the day or night. 34 RIDE checks in the first week of OPP’s Festive RIDE Program clearly shows the support and dedication of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP officers to this important public safety initiative.”
