I was having a very down and depressed time that day and had gone for a nap. When I woke up there was a lady sitting beside the bed with a blanket on her knee.

The lady apologized for her silent entry to the house and for startling me when I woke, however Barbara Caldwell is someone I know, so it was good to see her. She had driven out from Cobden to present me with the blanket she was carrying. It came from a small group of ladies from Shawville area in Quebec who she works with and who collect donated blankets and then they pass these blankets on to folks who are going through serious illness. Each blanket is prayed over and then those prayers are carried with the blanket to the recipients. The blankets are a reminder to the person that someone cares and that their prayers remain with them. I was so pleased to receive both the blanket and the visit and knowing that there are such caring people, who thought enough to give me one of their blankets and to offer up prayers on my behalf, just made my day so much brighter.

It is people like Mrs Caldwell and the others in her group that bring comfort and hope to so many. I want to thank them for their kindness and make the community aware of the good work they do. They are angels!

A very grateful recipient of a blanket.
