Alex Has Opinions: Water Costly in Cobden?

I’ve been hearing several complaints about the rising cost of water in Cobden, and how its effecting the retirement community. At least some people seem to think that it is an issue and have expressed fears they will have to move.

The cost of living has been going up everywhere in the last few decades, particularly for young people; houses and investing are out of reach for the millennials who keep hearing the tired, old joke about not buying houses because of our love of avocado toast. But for seniors, any kind of hike is even worse; the words ‘fixed income’ come up regularly, referring to the payout of pensions or retirement investments that most non-working seniors rely on.

With all the fears of the new developments raising costs and the aging Cobden community unable to keep up, I want to hear from the Whitewater Region on this subject. Send messages to my email, located on this paper, and to the Facebook page for Whitewater News; if you’re not able to access a computer, my phone is also available, because the Internet is still not an essential service in the eyes of the government despite being, well, essential.
