COBDEN — The boxes filled with my books arrived Tuesday morning, but I wanted to wait until my husband Tim was home to open them.
I had a meeting at 6:30 p.m. and so the opening was delayed a bit longer — I wanted to savour the moment and take my time.
I took a deep breath and dove in, carefully slicing the tape holding the box closed.
It was a tremendous feeling to physically touch the book and hold it in my hands.
I had seen it as a digital version but it really hit me in that moment that I have actually written and published a book.
Unbelievable and a bit surreal.
Once I checked it all over, the tears came. Tears of joy and relief!
Now I cannot wait until next week to set it free!
Ms. Keon is hosting a book reading and signing at the Whitewater Bromley Community Health Centre in Cobden next Wednesday, May 6, 7 to 9 p.m.
