RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is once again participating in the Christmas Angel Program. Christmas Angels will be available in both the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachments located at 1913 Petawawa Blvd., Petawawa, and 77 International Drive, Pembroke. Each “Angel” represents a less fortunate child in our community.

In addition to the OPP Detachments, Christmas Angels will also be available at the following locations; the Petawawa Public Library, the Town of Petawawa Municipal Office, Pembroke City Hall, the Pembroke Library and the Laurentian Valley Township Office.

Citizens are asked to attend the OPP Detachments or any of the above locations and pick an “Angel”, purchase a gift and return unwrapped gifts in a gift bag along with the corresponding “Angel” to the offices where they were taken from by December 2. Returning the gift and “Angel” before the deadline will ensure that the gifts can distributed on time.

Last year, 240 Christmas Angels were distributed by the OPP to caring community members who were willing to make Christmas brighter for local children in need.

For questions or further information regarding the Christmas Angel Program please contact Sara Lapointe at the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP.
