LAURENTIAN VALLEY TOWNSHIP – Arrests made in a break and enter that occurred in late November 2017.
On Sunday November 26, 2017 at approximately 1130 p.m., the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP responded to a break and enter that had just occurred at an occupied residential home on Round Lake Road in Laurentian Valley Township.
Two disguised suspects, armed with firearms, made entry into the residence. Both occupants of the home were placed in restraints and the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the residence. The suspects fled after stealing the victim’s vehicle, which was later recovered.
As a result of this investigation Adam Simon Daniel Commanda, aged 36 of the City of Pembroke, was arrested on January 24 and he faces the following Criminal Code (CC) charges: robbery using firearm – two counts; forcible confinement – two counts; breach of recognizance – two counts; break, enter and commit an indictable offence; disguise with intent and theft of motor vehicle
He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until his next appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Krista Jeanine Foster, aged 44 of Pembroke, was arrested on January 26, and she faces the following CC charges: robbery using firearms – two counts; forcible confinement – two counts; break, enter and commit an indictable offence; disguise with intent and fail to comply with probation
She was released on recognizance of bail with a court date of Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
Charges are anticipated to be laid against a third suspect, who is currently in custody on unrelated matters, at his next court appearance on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
