PEMBROKE — A Beachburg author is investing in health care.
Known throughout the Valley as a local author, retired teacher, and columnist Heather Campbell is investing some proceeds from her latest book, Heather’s Musings and More, into regional health care.
“The book is rooted in stories of growing up in the community,” said Ms. Campbell. “In that same sense of community, I would lie to share that $5 from every sale is being donated to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation.”
Originally from the Coe Hill area near Bancroft, Ms. Campbell has made Beachburg her home. After teaching for 34 years, she is just as busy as ever, from serving as the organist in Trinity United Church in Beachburg to her column in the Bancroft Times and publishing her fifth book.
Perfect for a casual reader, the book is bursting with local stories, anecdotes and life lessons from around the Ottawa Valley and Algonquin area.
Retailing for $18.95, the book is a perfect addition as a gift under the Christmas tree, Ms. Campbell noted.
It is available at the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation office and other locations throughout the county.
