WHITEWATER REGION (Beachburg) — The Beachburg Horticultural Society held its annual spring flower show and tea at the Beachburg Lions Hall, on Sunday, June 10th. Eleanor Wright is the chair of the Society and Eleanor McLaughlin the Treasurer.

The arrangements of shrubs, peonies, poppies, irises, hostas, potted plants, various ferns and corn flowers nicely showed. The best decorative exhibit was won by Lawrie Barton. She also was grand champion in the potted plant category with her fancy leaf begonia getting the nod. Dorothy Morrison of Shawville was the grand champion in the flower class with her morning lilac itoh peony.

There were 84 exhibits from nine exhibitors. Ms. Barton earned the most total points with Melissa Bennett second and Ms. McLaughlin in third. Tea and sandwiches were served.
