The Delmer Bennett Memorial Award was presented to Kathryn Stanton, left, by Gwen Bennett at the West Carleton 4-H awards night. This memorial is in memory of Delmer Bennett who, along with his wife Norma, were well known dairy farmers on the Kerr Line for many years. This award is given to a youth who has graduated from a high school in Renfrew County and is continuing their education in agriculture. Kathryn is a very deserving recipient. She has graduated from Arnprior District High School and is currently attending University of Guelph to complete a Bachelors Degree in Food and Agriculture Business. In her future career Kathryn hopes to help improve quota systems and stockpiles to prevent food waste and shortages. Applications for this award will be received by Ms. Bennett in the spring of 2017.
