It is with sadness we announce the passing of Bernard “Barney” Edward Joseph Cashubec of Cobden, and formerly of Sudbury. Born in Hyndford, Ont., he passed away peacefully in Hospice Renfrew with his loving family at his side on Sunday, February 23 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Cashubec (nee Etmanskie). Dear father of Patricia Noland (Mike Dombroskie), Donna (Armand Belanger), James, Cathy Cashubec, Brenda (Ron Hawco). Also survived by five grandchildren; Tyler, Vanessa (Jeffery), Tanya (Steven), Victoria (Joshua) and Paige. Three great-grandchildren; Hudson, Kingston, Hannah, with the fourth great-grandchild on the way. Two sisters Theresa Beaulieau, Joan Stashick and one brother Leo (Betty) Cashubec. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pius V Roman Catholic Church in Osceola, Ont. today at 2:00 p.m. Spring interment at St. Pius V Roman Catholic Cemetery in Osceola, Ont. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Renfrew would be appreciated.
