A blood donor clinic was held at the Cobgen Agricultural Hall Monday afternoon. There were 49 people who attended, but only 33 units of blood were able to be collected.
Elke Smith of Cobden donated for the 41st time. The next clinic is Wednesday, May 20. Please call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283 or go online to the Canadian Blood Services web to make an appointment. Do you know how many donors it takes for someone who needs blood? Heart surgery – up to five donors; car crash – up to 50 donors; cancer treatment – up to five donors; leukemia – up to 8 donors a week.
