It was a wild ride at the U16B National Capital Region Ringette League games in Cobden when Upper Ottawa Valley Bulldogs locked horns with the City of Ottawa Ringette.
The hostility was heavy and the pressure was high at the end of the first half with City of Ottawa up by 1.
In the second period, the Bulldogs took control of the game and scored three quick goals. The first goal was by Megan Bennett, assisted by Jamie Broome. Broome then scored goal number 2 assisted by Hannah Hubert and Abigail Schwan. Camryn McCallum scored the third goal assisted by Emma Kluke, which ended the game 3-1 for the Bulldogs.
The second game of the day was also against the City of Ottawa. Penalties were piling up on both sides of the bench, as the UOV Bulldogs remained full of spirit and sass.
At the end of the first half, the score was an even 1-1, with UOV defence Jordan Benedict scoring the lone goal. City of Ottawa snuck two goals past UOV Bulldogs. But, Abby Schwan wasn’t happy with that score. With seven seconds remaining in the game, Schwan scored, assisted by Broome and Bennett, ending the game 3-2, this time in Ottawa’s favour.
