The Canadian Red Cross is providing immediate relief funding and for those who qualify, you’re eligible for up to $600.
You’re encouraged to get in touch with them and submit your application, as you are either sent an electronic money transfer (e-transfer) or you’re given the amount in prepaid credit cards.
This fund is being made available to assist those with basic needs and basic living expenses. This fund is also only for those whose primary residence has been impacted. Seasonal dwellings do not qualify.
Funds are given out based on need and you’re eligible, this social assistance becomes available to you within 72 hours. These funds remain available until they run out at the upper level.
The Canadian Red Cross will be at the Westmeath Recreation Centre on May 23, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. so those who would like to apply for the funding or inquire about their eligibility or to simply get more information.
The volunteers at the Westmeath Recreation Centre will continue to provide comfort for all of those who need it during this time.
