The Cobden District Public School Grades 7 and 8 bands performed at “An Evening of Music” on Wednesday, May 11 in the school’s gym. Each band performed a number of pieces including When the Saints Go Marching In, Party Rock, Rolling in the Deep and Shake it Off. Proceeds from the evening exceeded $800. The money will be put towards maintaining the instruments as well as purchasing new music. The bands were also presented with a cheque for $100 from the Zion Line Women’s Institute during the concert. Alyssa Misener accepted the cheque on the bands’ behalf during the concert from Christine Reaburn. The CDPS Grade 7/8 bands extends sincere thanks to all those who supported its music night and to the Zion Line Women’s Institute for their generous donation. Photo submitted
