Chief administrative officer hired for Whitewater Region

COBDEN — Robert (Rob) Tremblay is joining the staff team at the Township of Whitewater Region as Chief Administrative Officer effective Monday, Dec. 19.
Mr. Tremblay brings 15 years of experience in municipal government, with training and education in the fields of political science and municipal administration. He has extensive experience in legislative, procedural and administrative matters.
Originally from Navan, Ontario, Mr. Tremblay worked for a number of years with the City of Ottawa and as a clerk within Lanark County. He currently serves as Clerk/Director of Legislative and Protective Services for the Municipality of Meaford on southern Georgian Bay with oversight over the clerk’s area in addition to fire, by-law and emergency services. He is fully bilingual.
Mr. Tremblay has a Bachelor of Social Sciences with a Minor in Political Science .from the University of Ottawa as well as a Diploma in Municipal Administration. He is currently completing a Master’s of Public Administration in the Local Government Program at the University of Western Ontario. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario.
Mr. Tremblay is looking forward to working with the Whitewater team and being a part of the community.

Council thanks Marsha Hawthorne, Deputy CAO/Treasurer for serving diligently in an acting capacity for several months.
While there was a hiring committee established to review the resumes, it was all of council who participated in the meetings with the final candidates prior to selecting Mr. Tremblay.
