Civitan club donates $10,000 from golf tournament

The 19th annual Cobden and District Civitan Club was held at Oaks of Cobden last on August 1. There were 184 golfers. Organizer Ted Barron said that’s about the average number each year.
The $10,000 proceeds went to the Cobden Food Bank, Hospice Renfrew, Renfrew Victoria Hospital and Whitewater Bromley Community Health.

The winners of the men’s division were Troy Lemay, Cory Straight, Nelson Adkins and Ivan Cole.

The team of Ed Stairs, Darryl Charbonneau, Richard Stone and Greg Stairs won the putting contest.

Accepting $3,000 cheques were Barb Desilets for Renfrew Victoria Hospital; Emily Hass and Collette Yemen for Hospice Renfrew and Pat Krose from the Whitewater Bromley Community Health Centre.

Marjorie Joly had the best card draw and won a set of golf clubs.
