Queens Line was cleaned up by about 10 families who supported an initiative of Joel Van Lindenberg.
Monique Van Lindenberg said Joel, her son, recalled when the Women’s Institute used to organize a clean-up and asked her about it. When he found out it’s not organized anymore, he suggested they organize a clean-up day on Earth Day.
He designed a flyer and they were put into people’s mailboxes and the clean-up happened.
“I’m so proud of him,” Monique said of her son.
She said about 10 families took part and most of the Line was picked clean of garbage.
