EGANVILLE — Reuben Stone of Valley Bio in Cobden is the guest speaker at the Eganville and Area Horticultural Society’s meeting on Monday, March 21.
The event is 7 p.m. at the Eganville Legion and is open to anyone 12 years and older.
Mr.Stone will present Growing hemp and how it’s used. He is the largest industrial hemp producer in Ontario and will tell us all about this crop and its incredible variety of uses, which includes paint, fabric, rope, etc.
There will be a social time, including refreshments and tea starting at 7 with the presentation beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Society president Judy Sauve said, “We are happy to welcome visitors to our meetings so that you can enjoy our speakers too.”
She noted the first visit is free and $5 for each subsequent visit. If you join the society, the cost is $10 a year and $15 for a family. There are benefits to joining, she said.
“Ask for our schedule of speakers and activities while you`re there, that may help you decide,” Ms. Sauve said.
