A splash pad could soon be in Whitewater Region Township.
The Cobden and District Civitan Club sent a letter to council asking for its support to the club’s application letter to the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The letter said the pad would be located in Cobden Park.
However, Councillor Daryl McLaughlin suggested the location of the splash pad be removed.
Councillor Chris Olmstead said he spoke with Randi Keith of the Civitan Club and it was agreed the application would be worded so that the park wouldn’t be included.
This way the pad’s location wouldn’t be confirmed until a variety of locations were reviewed and the best location decided upon, he said.
Chief Administrative Officer Christine FitzSimons will provide a letter of support from council.
