Cobden District Public School is the champs of the 2017 Renfrew County Elementary Interscholastic Athletic Association West three-pitch tournament. The Grade 7 team edged Eganville District Public School 5-4 in the championship game following a day of baseball hosted by the Petawawa Civic Centre. Cobden had earned a berth in the final by first defeating Valour School 8-5 and then Cathedral Catholic School 8-1 in the elimination playoffs, while Eganville edged Highview Public School 5-4 and tripled St. Mary’s Catholic School 9-3.
