Ivan Burton said the tourist booth in Cobden might open for 28 days this year.
He said the Tourist booth was closed all last year due to the pandemic, and that they were reaching out to past volunteers for help.
He said that several past Volunteers had expressed interest.
He said that community leader Debbie Ready would oversee the summer student assignment.
“We are looking forward to this and want some direction from the council.” Burton said.
Reeve Regier asked if the Renfrew County District Health Unit was “okay with this” or if any ‘deep cleaning’ would be necessary.
Burton said they would reach out to confirm, saying several booths in other counties were opening as part of Stage 1.
Councillor Nicholson asked if the Township would provide support to employees potentially affected by Covid due to this, which Burton confirmed.
