The Whitewater Region Committee of Adjustment met via Zoom call on February 9, 10:06 pm, streamed via Youtube.

Councillor Chris Olmstead asked for disclosure of interest among the members, and there was none.

A minor variance application submitted for 9 Pembroke Street in Cobden to relieve the zoning by-law Section 4.2 (ii), submitted by Patricia Boruski on behalf of McKey Enterprises, to reduce the variance by 1ft.

The building in question is a shed that Ivan Burton said would be used for storage bythe buildings. “won’t affect any of the vehicular traffic” or pedestrians.

“The committee must be satisfied that the variance meets the four tests.” he said. “The variance meets the intent and purposes of the plan.

He said that it also meets the intents and purposes of the bylaw, that the adjacent land is owned by the township and be used to funnel stormwater.

He also said that the variance is minor, and does not inhibit emergency access.

“It is not intended for public access.”

Finally, he said the development was desirable to the developer, and the owner does approve of it.

The motion was voted on, and passed.
