Burton said the report was in response to a code of conduct complaint on January 31st, 2022. “it’s the findings of his investigation.

“There’s two parts to be considered by council: How we will receive the report and make it public and also whether or not council will proceed with the recommendation from Mr. Fleming, which is recommending that a reprimand be provided to Mr. Olmstead with respect to his behavior in the code of conduct.”

He said that the report would become public added into the minutes of the meeting, to be published on their website.

“Mr. Fleming recommend to remind the Council of the standard of behavior of all members of all circumstances as it pertains to his breach of conduct.

He said that they would send a letter to Councillor Olmstead and whether or not the report would be made public.

There were no questions.

There were no mover or seconder, so the motion was dead.

“I understand that the motion that was put forth there included the reprimand piece. Perhaps a motion that was reworded to just receive the report and it the report to the minutes – it HAS to be made public.” Burton said. “That could be a motion perhaps, Clerk Miller you could work that out in the council chambers, please.”

Clerk Carmen Miller then suggested the motion be split into two parts: One to attach the report to the minutes and receive it, and the other to issue a letter of reprimand to Olmstead.

The first motion was carried 4-2.

The second part had no mover or seconder and thus was not carried.

The next Regular Council Meeting is on August 17.
