RENFREW COUNTY (Petawawa) — The Crime Unit of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating after the body of a deceased adult was found along a trail in Petawawa’s Terrace Provincial Park. The body was discovered by a park user on Monday November 4, at approximately 12:30 p.m. who then notified police.
OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Coroner’s Office is also assisting with the investigation. A post-mortem is scheduled to take place on November 5, to determine the cause of death. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
The identity of the deceased person is not being released at this time pending notification of next-of-kin.
