DR. ARNOLD FAUGHT
July 3, 1931 – August 14, 2015

Born in Cobden, Ontario, Arnold was the son of the late John and Annabel (Leach) Faught. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara (née Stephens) of 53 years. He is the father of Andrea, Darroch (Heidi Segal), Carolyn (Paul Crabtree), Jennifer Manhire (Tim Manhire) and Stephen. He is the beloved grandfather to Amy, Emily, and Joshua Evans, Cassidy and Morgan Faught, Madeleine and Hannah Crabtree, William, Ellen, and Georgia Manhire. Arnold is the brother of Ross (Fern), Ann Anderson, Ward (Donna), Lorna Burwell (Malcom) and Sam. He is predeceased by his sisters Bernice and Isobel and his brothers Elmer, Harry and Murray.
Arnold practiced pediatrics in Ottawa for over forty years, in private practice and as a member of the staff at CHEO from 1974 until 2004 specializing in endocrinology. He loved his work and was much loved by his patients and co-workers.
He had a deep Christian faith all of his life and this was expressed in a profound gratefulness for the gift of his life, work, family and friends. Many a church congregation was moved by his strong yet gentle tenor voice.
For his children he was a loving, kind and patient father with a slapstick sense of humour and a boyish adventurousness and love of the outdoors which never left him. His grandchildren were the delighted recipients of these gifts as well. But Arnold’s greatest love and devotion was always to his wife Barbara who remained his everything even into his last days. Friends attended a visitation at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes. 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Funeral service was held at Parkdale United Church, on Wednesday. Interment Pioneer Cemetery, Osceola. Donations can be made to The Carefor Day Program and the Peter D. Clark Long-term Care Center whose services were so appreciated by the Faught family. Condolences, donations or tributes may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com.
