Driver charged with being impaired

RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — A driver has been charged with being impaired after a vehicle fled from members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on June 5 at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Pembroke Street West. The vehicle fled failed to stop and turned on to Forced Rd. and continued some distance before stopping. The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the UOV OPP Detachment.

Colton Clark, 21 years old of no fixed address, has been charged under the Criminal Code with two counts of operation while prohibited; two counts of possession of property obtained by crime; two counts of fail to comply with a Probation Order; operation of a vehicle while impaired; fail to stop for a peace officer; theft of a motor vehicle; theft under a credit; and possession or use of a credit card obtained by crime.

The accused was held for a bail hearing by video before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 5.
