LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP — On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at just after 6 a.m., the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP responded to a serious two vehicle collision on Round Lake Road between Borne Road and Rahns Road in Laurentian Valley Township (LVTP).

The collision involved an eastbound passenger vehicle and a westbound Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) water tanker truck. The LVTP Fire Department and the Petawawa Fire Department extricated both drivers who were taken to hospital by paramedics with serious injuries. There were no passengers in the involved vehicles.

OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members assisted with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation the driver of the passenger vehicle, 37-year-old Daniel Edward Wice of Pembroke, was arrested in early January and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm

Impaired driving causing bodily harm

Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in his blood.
