Drugs, cash, stolen property seized after OPP execute search warrant in Pembroke

RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) — On August 15, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Lea Street in Pembroke.

As a result of the search warrant police located and seized a quantity of drugs, cash and stolen property. Two adults and one young person were arrested and charged with Criminal Code (CC) and CDSA offences as a result of the investigation.

A 17-year-old young person from Oshawa, ON faces the following CC and CDSA charges:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Obstruct police

The accused was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Youth Division – in Pembroke on October 3.

34-year-old Ashley Dawn Martell of Pembroke faces the following CC and CDSA charges:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

32-year-old Tyler Pear of Pembroke faces the following CDSA charge:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine

Both accused adults were released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 1.
