Eganville’s Olympian to be honoured by school board

A world-renowned athlete who is a graduate of Opeongo High School will be honoured at Opeongo High School next month.
The Renfrew County District School Board has declared Wednesday, Dec. 16 as Melissa Bishop Day at Opeongo High School.
Ms. Bishop is an 800 metre World Track and Field Championship Silver Medal winner, Pan Am Gold Medal winner, Canadian 800 m record holder and Olympian.
She is also an Eganville District Publi School graduate and Opeongo High School student.
A permanent display will be set up at the school during a special event to honour Ms. Bishop.
