PEMBROKE — The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that they have received a third $10,000 Gift of Humanity towards this year’s Black and White Gala 150, compliments of EGM Insurance.
EGM Insurance is strongly committed to improving access to health care for Renfrew County families. They have been supporting the Gala since it began and this year they have decided to position themselves as a Lead Sponsor.
“If you Google EGM Insurance you will soon realize that they are not just about providing comprehensive insurance options for local businesses and families, they are also devout community ambassadors. Their charitable giving, including volunteering, is a testament that EGM Insurance truly cares about community and the well-being of local families. It is like they hold a personal insurance policy for the community and they just keep paying out,” said Nancy Warren, Executive Director of the PRH Foundation.
“It is important for us to give back to our community, as we see first-hand the benefits to having top notch heath care in the Valley. I know so many people who have had an MRI, cancer treatments and dialysis right here, close to home. That would not have been possible without our community backing,” said Lisa Edmonds, owner of EGM Insurance.
“October 14th is around the corner and the committee has set a lofty goal of $150,000, so we have a lot of ground to cover between now and then. Modernization of the surgical in-patient space and supporting the Orthopaedic program are the immediate priorities and we hope the community at-large will join us as we continue to pull together so that our friends and family have access to state-of-the-art services at a state-of-the-art facility,” added Laura Carroll, chair of the Gala Committee.
Sponsorship spots range from $150 (Gift of Caring) to $10,000+ (Gift of Humanity). There are also a limited number of seats available to attend this black tie celebration of philanthropy. Tickets are $175 each, which includes a $100 charitable receipt. Purchase your Gala ticket before Aug 25th for a chance to win a weekend getaway to Prince Edward County.
Leading up to the Gala, there is also a community raffle to support the event. Star Set Jewellers has donated a Canada 150 Edition Maple Leaf 0.51 ct Diamond that can be set as a ring or as a necklace; Midas Pembroke is sponsoring the second prize which includes two tickets to Elton John in Kingston with overnight stay. The third prize is two tickets to next year’s Gala, on October 13th 2018. The lottery purse is valued at $6,695.01 with tickets selling for $15 each, five for $60 or 10 for $100.
