RENFREW COUNTY — Effective immediately, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) is now in phase three of a work-to-rule. This means that public elementary school educators in our district will not:

  • Supervise extracurricular activities unless they are scheduled within the regular school day;
  • Participate in field trips; or
  • Plan or participate in any assemblies, except to provide supervision to students.

In the coming days, you may receive a communication from your child’s school about cancellations or postponements of extracurricular and field trips that affect your child.

Finally, the ETFO has also announced, should the government not address their concerns, they will begin a full withdrawal of services, also known as a walkout, on a rotating basis beginning on Monday. There are no details on what this may look like at this time.

Our District will share updates and information as we receive them on our Twitter, Facebook and on our website at rcdsb.on.ca. We thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding.
