The Council of the Township of Whitewater Region received a report for information purposes as pertains to the annual emergency management review (2021).
Clerk Miller said that the community municipal group participated in November 19 and November 22 training exercises to “ensure they understand the responsibilities of the practice”.
Clerk Miller said that it ‘went well’ and they were ‘good until next year.”
Reeve Regier asked who was on the Emergency program committee.
Mayor Moore, Councillor Nicholson, Clerk Miller, CAO Trembley, and offered to forward the list as she could not remember, but that it ‘almost includes the full staff.”
Councillor Nicholson asked if there were any subsequent exercises, which Clerk Miller said she would “plan for October”.
He also asked about armed gunman situations and if the OPP would require exercises for the committee.
Miller said it was possible to coordinate with them. Mayor Moore said the Township has ‘less of a role on private property.”
The motion was carried.
