PEMBROKE — Thursday July 5th a group of enthusiastic young entrepreneurs gathered to meet with Enterprise Renfrew County staff and business community mentors for the official launch of the 2018 Summer Company Program.

This year, six students from across the Ottawa Valley were successful in earning a Summer Company award to run their own business during the summer. To qualify for the program, the students had to develop a comprehensive business plan including market analysis, operations and financial feasibility. Instead of working in a summer job for someone else, these students decided to put their exciting ideas into reality creating their own businesses and becoming self-employed entrepreneurs.

Colleen Sadler, Enterprise Renfrew County Business Consultant, spoke to the essence of the program. “Youth and young adults hold the key to a bright future in Ontario. More employment opportunities will result across our province if young adults hold the key to a bright future in Ontario. More employment opportunities will result across our province if young entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to succeed.”
