Erma Frances Johnson of Beachburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday June 3, 2019 at the age of 8o years. Erma Frances Johnson (nee Bennett) daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Bennett. Dear mother of Sheila Wishart and Karen St. Arnaud (Dan). Also survived by grandchildren Corrie (Ashley Goulden), Cameron and Jonathan Wishart, great – granddaughter Ava Wishart., sisters Edna Peever (late Ronald), Helen Lumax (late Willis), sisters -in-law Ruby Ross (late Veldon), Shirley Bennett (late George), Dale Rae, Ivy Johnson and brother-in-law Bill Ashley as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Michael, sister Ruby Bulmer (late Basil), and 2 brothers George and Veldon Bennett. Erma was an admired teacher of 35 years, she taught many of those years at Beachburg Public School. She was a writer, poet and musical entertainer. She also was an active member of the UCW and the community and a friend to many. Friends may call at the Fraser – Morris and Heubner Funeral Home in Cobden today (Thursday) from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. Thence to St. Andrews United Church Beachburg for Service at 2 p.m. Interment Beachburg Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Andrews United Church Memorial Fund or Beachburg Union Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
