It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Christena White (nee Wright) on Sunday, May 10 at 80 years of age. Ethel White, beloved wife of the late Gordon Thomas White. Loving mother to Sue (Ian Macfarlane), Julie (Mitch Vaudrie), Tracy (Derrick McColeman) and Trevor (Melissa Chaput). Proud Nana to Gillian and Tegan Macfarlane, Jordan and Lauren Vaudrie, Nathan and Brianna McColeman, Brody and Jenna White. She will be missed by her sisters Arvilla (Robert Cook), Esther (Edgar White), Helen (Brian McInnes), Keitha (John Sherrard) and brothers Lindsay Wright (Pauline), Rowan Wright (Pieret), Peter Wright, Arthur Wright (Nancy), Robin Wright (Joan) sisters-in-law Lorna (Bob Jackson) and Isabel White. Predeceased by her parents Stuart and Lydia Wright. Ethel worked for the Department of National Defence as a civil servant at Base Petawawa after high school, then became a full time mom and worked with her husband on the family farm while raising her children. She later went to work for Optometrists Taylor, O’Grady and Kuehl for 17 years. Upon retirement she passed her time looking after her husband, gardening and card making. Due to the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside service will be held in St. Augustine’s Anglican Cemetery in Beachburg at a later date.
