LANARK COUNTY (Tay Valley) — Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a serious collision on Highway 7 near Doran Road around 1:30 p.m. on July 25, 2019 involving a tractor trailer and a smaller vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, Carrol DOBSON, age 72 of Perth, Ontario was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers wish to thank members of the public who stopped to render assistance to the driver and assist with traffic prior to police arrival as well as to the Lanark County Paramedics, Perth Fire Department, the Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of the Environment who also attended to assist.
The highway was shut down with detours in place until 2:00 a.m. on July 26, 2019 while police conducted their investigation. No charges will be laid in this matter.
