Stolen vehicle, other items recovered

RENFREW COUNTY (Petawawa)The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 20 year old man after recovering a stolen vehicle and items stolen from multiple other vehicles.

The OPP received a report on the morning of July 27, 2019 that a pick-up truck had been taken from a home in Petawawa, Ontario. A short time later, officers responded to reports of a vehicle, matching the description of the stolen truck, being driven erratically nearby. Officers located a quantity of mail and other items, including a wallet, mail, keys and cough medicine, which had been taken overnight from several other parked vehicles. Investigators also suspected the driver could be impaired and called in an OPP Drug Recognition Expert to conduct testing.

Colton Blair CLARK, age 20 of Pembroke has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (Over $5000)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (under $5000) – five counts
  • Trespass by Night – five counts
  • Impaired by Drug
  • Drive while Disqualified
  • Fail to Comply With a Probation Order – three counts

The accused has also been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Suspended Drive. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 13, 2019.
