RENFREW – The Renfrew County Soil & Crop Improvement Association is hosting a screening of the Food Evolution movie at the Renfrew O’Brien Theatre next Thursday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free with a donation to the Renfrew and Area Food Bank.
This is a first ever “Ask a Farmer” event — a social media brand that a few local farm girls have started to develop to help local farmers connect with our consumers.
Prior to the movie begins, we are going to have a few local farmers introduce themselves and their farming operations. The movie is a science-based Hollywood production narrated by scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson about food and technology.
David Ainsworth, co-ordinator of the Need to Know series (NTK) will be the evening facilitator.
If you have questions about food, technology, the environment — this is a great place to start.* Â * Â
We will also be collecting feedback cards for attendees if they have more questions about food and agriculture, noted Jennifer Doelman. We will be posting the answers on our upcoming Facebook page: “Ask a Farmer”.* Â * Â
