WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — The Township of Whitewater Region thanks Jonathan Wilker for his two years of service as the Township’s full-time Fire Chief and Community Emergency Management Coordinator. Mr. Wilker is exploring other professional opportunities as a full-time Fire Chief. We wish him well in his future endeavours and thank him for his service.
Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan McLaren will be serving as Acting Chief on an interim basis. Emergency Management duties will be reassigned to another member of the staff team.
The Township is reviewing the resourcing and structure of the Fire Department after a successful two-year transition. A part time Fire Chief model is being explored. A report will be coming to Council in February on next steps.
