The Community Living flag is flying high on a flag pole in front of the Township of Whitewater Region office in Cobden. Displaying the flag before raising it are Councillor Charlene Jackson and Mayor Hal Johnson. May is Community Living Month, which is a time to celebrate the achievements of people with an intellectual disability who shatter the myths about disability to learn, work and play in the community alongside their non-disabled citizens. Their stories are testaments to the power of a vision that respects the inherent value of each individual and holds that all members of our community can share in all elements of living in the community.
