Foul play not suspected in drowning at Owl Rafting

WHITEWATER REGION (Foresters Falls) A 22-year-old man drowned while vacationing at Owl Rafting.

The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP investigated the drowning, which occurred Friday, July 6.

OPP officers, Renfrew County Paramedics, and firefighters from Whitewater Region responded to the report of a swimmer who had gone under water at Owl Rafting on Friday evening at 6:28 p.m.

The swimmer was located and pulled to shore where resuscitation efforts were started. The male was transported to hospital by paramedics but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The deceased has been identified as Charles (Chuck) Ozulumba, 22, of Markham.

The Office for the Chief Coroner of Ontario is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Renfrew OPP. A post mortem examination has been scheduled. Foul play is not suspected.
