A barbecue and bake sale was held to raise money to help purchase uniforms for the Canadian kayak team. They will be competing at the World Freestyle Championship being held in Whitewater Region Township near summer’s end.
This event is like a mini-Olympics with many similarities, including an Opening Parade and ceremonies at the Beachburg fairgrounds and closing ceremonies at Wilderness Tours near Foresters Falls.
There event takes place Aug. 30 to Sept. 5.
